April 2023 to June 2024
An inaugural cross-departmental policy for young parents across 1000 days that funds 50 navigators for four years, in already existing organisations in Australia.
Stage 1
One Place
July 2024 to June 2028
Navigators mobilised in a place based approach in areas with high rates of young parents. Navigators provide all of the supports, nurture and services on offer, in place based locations across 1000 days. Evaluation including navigators’ experience will be captured and inform ongoing systemic improvements for families.
Stage 2
One Door
July 2028 to June 2032
Systems will be included and trialled with place based navigators in Stage 2. Evaluation of navigators’ experience and their role will be translated into recommendations for systemic improvements for families, including the One Door Intergenerational Policy Framework.
Stage 3
One Door For All Families
June 2032 onwards
Implement ‘One Door Intergenerational Policy Framework’ approach nationally, so that all families, across 1000 days are met with place based support, nurture, services and payments through one door in an empowering and nurturing environment.
